Yin Yoga

In this series of six simple Yin Yoga Asana practices with Emma Peel, we will move through the body in a sequential way, engaging the spine completely, stretching not only the tissues of the body and the ligaments of the spine but extending our own capacity to pay attention.  

Now held in our Linbury Room, Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with Asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods. This course is suitable for all levels, Emma will provide guidance or adjustments to suit all abilities in each of the sessions.   

Asana practices are married with a meditative awareness to facilitate the Yin qualities of yielding and tension release, allowing the body to recover and move through the world more freely. The more we learn how to soften, the more the whole body can participate in this action of gentle motions and the stillness.  

Yoga mats and blocks will be provided but participants are very welcome to bring their own equipment if they wish.
